a systematic approach to the treatment of the spine and extremities.
The McKenzie Method emphasizes self-treatment and self-healing and has been proven by research to be more effective in decreasing acute and chronic pain in the spine and extremities than other methods.
The McKenzie Method is not simply a set of exercises; it is a defined algorithm that serves to classify the spinal or extremity problem so that it can be adequately treated.
Patient self-management skills are a cornerstone of the McKenzie Method.

Patients learn how to perform specific exercises, positions, and postural modifications that are found to be of direct therapeutic benefit. Patients also learn to avoid activities that worsen their condition.
The McKenzie Method includes the use of exercise, mobilization, and the REPEX (Repeated End range Passive Exercise) machine to achieve superior results.
